New Unryu Nezumi
This highly textured paper is made from Japanese kozo. Translucent and strong, its texture comes from a dense coverage of fibreglass inclusions. These inclusions can be sharp, so be careful when tearing the paper by hand!
Washi is the word for traditional papers made by hand. The art of washi is an extremely labour intensive process starting with the harvest and preparation of kozo, gampi, or mitsumata fibres. Each sheet is formed, dried, and decorated by hand. For this reason, each sheet, and certainly each batch of handmade papers will have slight variations in weight, texture, and colour.
