Iwami paper is a versatile handmade sheet that offers great value for artists, particularly printmakers, who want to upgrade to higher quality papers without breaking the bank. Made from a blend of 80% Thai kozo and 20% sulphite fibres, Iwami paper has a very clean and even surface that is perfect for a wide range of applications.

The combination of kozo and sulphite fibers gives Iwami paper a unique texture that allows the paper to absorb ink evenly, making it perfect for printmaking techniques such as relief print, linocut, woodcut, collograph, wood engraving, intaglio, and etching.

In addition to printmaking, Iwami paper is also ideal for other art forms such as oil-based and water-based painting, brush painting, stencil, suminagashi, and orizome. The lightweight 24g weight of the paper makes it easy to handle and perfect for creating delicate and detailed work.
